Once you arrive at Keflavík Airport, you will need to make your way to the ferry terminal in the town of Landeyjahöfn, which is around a 3-hour drive away, or a 2-hour drive from Reykjavík. You can rent a car or take a shuttle bus to get there. Alternatively, you can take a taxi or use a combination of public transportation.
From Landeyjahöfn, you can board a ferry to the Westman Islands. The ferry ride takes approximately 30-35 minutes, and it provides stunning views of the Icelandic coastline and the islands as you approach. The Westman Islands are a unique and picturesque destination, known for their volcanic landscapes, puffin colonies, and vibrant fishing culture. Be sure to check the ferry schedule and book your ticket in advance, especially during the summer months when there’s higher demand for travel to the islands.
